I'm back for another Althea Box review, and this time I will be reviewing the Black Sparkling Box - because nothing says classy and chic like BLACK. I've previously reviewed their Mermaid Box, and you can click on the link to see what I think about it! *click*
If you've been an Althea follower, you will know that since October 2016, they have been releasing two - three Althea beauty boxes a month, which is their latest addition to the Althea Korea family. They are specially curated by the fairy team in Seoul, and once a box is out of stock, that means it is sold out. This makes it super limited edition, so if you see a box you like, I would suggest that you bag it asap so as not to cry later once it's gone.
This month, there were three Holiday Edition boxes, which is the Red Sparkling Box (RM116), Gold Sparkling Box (RM109 - sold out), and Black Sparkling Box (RM120)
The Black Sparkling Box is Althea's 37th concept box, just in time for the holidays!
The first thing about this box is that it comes in a limited edition Christmas Themed Althea Box. I absolutely love the design on the box, it is really intricate and pretty with the gold against the blue. Looking closely, you can actually see little Reindeers and a Santa sleigh on the side of the box.
Upon opening the box, nestled within the familiar pink paper, you get full sized products of everything that has been listed in the box, which contains:

Let's dive right into the contents!
Son & Park All That Smoky Kit
Create a sultry, smokey look by using brown or gray eye shadow. These rich shades come in both matte and shimmer finishes to create multiple looks for any occasion.
The palette comes in six shades, consisting of the below:
Clear Stone - shimmer pale shadow, suitable as a highlighter
Toubu - matte beige colour, suitable to be used as a base shadow
Brass - shimmer gold shade, suitable as a highlighter
Brownie - pearlescent brown shade
Iron Lilac - pearlescent gray shade, with hints of purple
Charcoal - matte black shade
Taken under natural lighting, the colours are swatched twice. The shimmer shades are not as visible here, but looks gorgeous upon application. Scroll to the bottom to see the looks I have created.
Taken with flash. The shades under flash are more pronounced, and you can clearly see the pearlescent shades.
April Skin Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 (2016 NEW) #23
With a luxurious black case, this cushion contains more than 45% moisture serum that instantly gives you a mositurised, flawless finish. Keeps your skin looking and feeling great this party season!
I love the feel of the case, it's a matte textured finishing that's different compared to the normal cushion compact cases out there that has a glossy finishing, which for me it is easier to handle compared to other cases. I feel that it also gives the product a more premium feel.
When you open the case, you will notice that the cushion is different than other cushions. The product is encased in a special mochi-shaped sponge pocket, and it will dispense the right amount of product when pressed with the puff (as you can see in the picture above). The little brown dot is the product that was dispensed when I touched it with my finger.
The sponge picks up the product quite well too, and upon application distributes it evenly over my entire face. The formulation was also very moisturising, and my face didn't feel dried out at all.
The product gives a glowy finish, and there is a noticeable brightness where I have applied it.
Missha The Style 4D Mascara
Finish your smokey eyes with fluttery lashes! Define, volumise, and lengthen your lashes for a gorgeous finish to your sexy, edgy look.
Rire Gel Eyeliner #01 Kill Black
No bad-girl look is complete without eyeliner! Define those eyes on both the upper and lower waterline. This pencil gel eyeliner is easy to apply and blend for bright clear eyes.
The gel eyeliner is very easy to apply with a smooth formulation, and mascara wand also dispenses the right amount of product onto my lashes.
Last but not least, the box also contains an Althea Gift Card that contains a special code that you can redeem upon your next order, which is valid until the end of February 2018.
The code comes in a scratch format, not unlike the ones used for our parking coupons. All you need to do is scratch over the foil layer, and you'll get the code to be used for your next purchase.
How did I use these products?
This is a very versatile box, and with it, I was able to create two looks, which can be used either for day, or night.
For both looks, I used the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion and Missha The Style 4D Mascara. For my eyes, the looks were created with the colours below from the Son & Park All That Smoky Kit Palette.
Neutral Day Look
Base: Toubu
Middle: Brownie
Outer Corner: Charcoal to smoke it out
Highlight, and arch of the brows: Clear Stone
Eyeliner: Just above the top lash line
Glam Night Look
Base: Toubu
Crease: Iron Lilac
Outer Corner: Charcoal to smoke it out
Bottom lashline: Iron Lilac
Highlight, and arch of the brows, inner corner of the eyes: Brass
Eyeliner: In the inner and lower lash line

What do I think of this box?
It has everything you need to bring your look from day to night. Say goodbye to a multitude of products in your makeup pouch, because the four products in this box is all you need, plus an eyebrow pencil and blusher, of course.
I tried on the day look for a full day out, and I can tell you that there is zero smudge on my eyes from the Rire Gel Liner, and no creasing of my eyeshadows from the Son & Park Palette. My foundation remained dewy thanks to the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion, and I didn't come home to panda eyes because of the wonderful no smudge formula in the Missha mascara.
For a price of RM120, it is very affordable and all the products in here are good quality products from reputable brands.
