Tiger STREATS hits the road

Tiger STREATS, the unique street food experience from Tiger Beer, is gearing up to take its culinary delights on the road this March. For those of you in Penang and Johor, you will get the chance to sample Malaysian street food favourites as you've never had them before, all washed down with ice cold Tiger brews. Hurray for food!!!

The Tiger STREATS events in Penang and Johor will be held at the Hin Bus Depot in Penang on 4th March (it just passed!), and JWC The Factory 30 in Johor Bahru on 18th March, from 5pm-11pm. Admission is open to non-Muslims over the age of 18.

On offer during the events will be numerous creative street food mash-ups, based around the concept of ‘street food with a twist’. With up to 14 one-of-a-kind takes on local favourites, from Curry Flavour Waffles to Fried Cempedak Ice Cream, Tiger STREATS will be more than enough to satisfy anyone’s tastebuds. Yes, Fried Cempedak Ice Cream, all thanks to Inside Scoop! Now those in Johor and Penang will have a chance to try it out! No more having to come all the way to Johor for Inside Scoop :)

In addition to the amazing array of dishes to sample, Tiger fans will be kept entertained throughout the events with retro-inspired games, experiential activities, and performances from great local artistes. And of course, to pair with all that delicious food, ice cold Tiger brews will be available at a special price throughout the evening.

I think out of all the food events I've been to, this is the one event that I remember the most. Because I tried out so many different food concepts that are unheard or even unthought of. This is the platform where food connoisseurs will have the chance to go all out, and experiment, and we get to try it!

Tiger STREATS launched in December in Kuala Lumpur, where 700 guests sat down together to feast on array of treats prepared by two chefs from very different worlds, but who shared the honour of Michelin Star fame.

Hawker Chan, the owner of the first hawker stand to win the prestigious award, and Chef Ramsey (not to be confused with Gordon Ramsay), owner of progressive modernist restaurant Babe KL combined their culinary talents to craft an extraordinary dining experience with a unique collection of fusion dishes merging traditional Asian street food and contemporary fine dining cuisine.

Jessie Chuah, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer said, “The response to Tiger STREATS so far has been incredible, and we’re thrilled to bring this unique culinary experience to even more Tiger Beer fans in Penang and Johor.”

Looking at these images makes me want to head there myself, to grab some of these yummy street food that's not easily found anywhere else.
