The Roof, Asia’s iconic tourist attraction and integrated entertainment hub located in the heart of Bandar Utama, celebrated its second anniversary with cocktails and canapes served at the star attraction of the hub, Stratosphere. Stratosphere is the luxury open-air rooftop bar nestled on top of an infinity grassed helipad, the first and only in Asia, which offers an unprecedented panoramic bird’s-eye view of the city and greater Klang Valley.
I’ve been up on Stratosphere before, and I must say, it offers a view not a lot of buildings can offer. Granted, it’s not the tallest building in the PJ area, but at the same time, it does give off an exhilarating feeling, standing on the helipad, feeling the wind on your face, and feeling a little like that scene in Titanic :p
Host for the evening was Mr. Dax Lee (Chief Executive Officer, The Roof), Mr. Roen Cian Nagapan (Director, The Roof), Mr. Dik Hau (Director, The Roof), Mr. Manfred Hamad (Director, The Roof) and Ms. Carolyn Teh (General Manager, The Roof). Joining them was guest of honour, Tan Sri Dato Teo Chiang Kok (Director, First Nationwide Group) and Mr. Mathieu Duchemin (Managing Director of Moet Hennessy Diageo Malaysia). The event was also graced by many key players from the industry, local celebrities and artistes.
“The past 2 years have been a happy and successful one in so many ways. The Roof started off in November 2013, with only 5 outlets and has successfully attained the number 1 spot in tourist destination and entertainment hub in the Klang Valley within its first 6 months of operations. Stratosphere, our crown jewel, was rated No. 1 on Trip Advisor for Selangor nightlife attraction”, said Dax Lee, CEO of The Roof in his welcome address during the anniversary party.
From just five outlets in the location, they are now adding more to it, with the opening of HIDE – a cool contemporary hideaway where you can unwind in style with sophisticated wine offerings and hand-crafted cocktails for the true experience seeker. With the opening of HIDE, The Roof has elevated its experience to another level with eight unique experiences in one destination.
With a monopoly anniversary theme, the event was officiated by a spectacular top hat dance performance followed by display of fireworks. The Roof also grasped the opportunity to introduce its membership card featuring exclusive money can’t buy benefits & privileges.
At the climax of the night, the party made its way to Play Club at The Roof where American hip-hop EDM group “Far East Movement” was set to perform. The trio group consisting of Kev Nish, Prohgress and DJ Virman definitely elevated The Roof to a whole new level when they dropped big hits such as “Like a G6”, “Rocketeer”, “Turn Up The Love” and “Get Up (Rattle). The anniversary party also featured local DJs like Kino Takamura, Jerryca Misty and also renowned rappers Joe Flizzow and Biggie.
Til the next time, stay beautiful!
xoxo,
yin
