BUT, fast forward a few years down the line, and here I am, putting on my contacts and taking them off is like second nature to me. I have come a long way since then, and I have gotten even vainer (if there is such a word) by using coloured contacts! However, as lenses can wear down over time, I find that I have to constantly rewet my eyes cos they feel dry after a few hours. Sometimes, it’s even hard to put them on cos I’ve been working through the night and my tired eyes can’t take the strain from the lenses.
That’s when I decided to take a look at CooperVision lenses, as they have always been on the forefront to develop a wide array of lenses that will be able to adapt to the changing needs of lens wearers. As far as I can see, they have one of the widest ranges of lenses in the industry, so I was pretty sure that they have the right lens for me.
I’ve always used monthly disposable lenses, but definitely, daily disposables are better, and thanks to CooperVision, I was introduced to the Biomedics 1 day Extra daily disposable lenses. This isn’t a new range that CooperVision has come up with, in fact, this is in upgraded version that will give you more comfort and more convenience for an all-day better lens wearing experience.
So, what’s so great about the Biomedics 1 day Extra lenses? You get a 55% water content for your lenses, and comfortable lens wear for up to 11 hours. On top of that, replacing your lenses every day regularly will help to promote good eye health. Perhaps one of the things I love the most about wearing daily disposable lenses, is that you don’t have to worry about the hassle of cleaning and storing your lenses, as you just take them out, and throw them in the bin! Of course, you STILL have to wash your hands before you do it :p
I’ve been using these lenses for a while now, and what do I think of it?
First of all, it was very easy to put them on. When I did, there was no discomfort, and my eyes didn’t feel strained, even though I was working through the night. Due to the nature of my job, I move around the city a lot, and I was in and out of air conditioned places the whole day, but my eyes felt really comfortable, unlike when I was using my other lenses. I didn’t feel like I was wearing the contacts at all, and it’s almost as if I had 20/20 vision again.
Though I still use my coloured contacts for events, I use these for my daily work. After using it for a few weeks, I can feel that my eyes are less dry, and I don't have to rewet my eyes with drops that often. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I rewet them when I was using the Biomedics lenses.

The additional value about these lenses that there are also Toric lenses for those with astigmatism. A lot of people with astigmatism can't use contacts because the manufacturers don't make astigmatism lenses as there are additional measurements that you need to know to make these lenses and they're a hassle to keep so much of this in stock. But CooperVision understands that these users also want to look better without spectacles, and they have taken the time to manufacture these lenses for those with astigmatism. You can be sure that the Biomedics 1 day Extra Toric lenses’ unique design for superior vision and also designed for day-long comfort.
