Now that the rainy season is over, the hot hot hot sun is back again :( and it's easy to lose moisture from your skin, so much so that your skin will feel dehydrated in just a short while of being under the heat. In this season, it's always important to stay hydrated, and replenish the moisture in your skin, which is why I use the Etude House Collagen Moistfull Water Filler :) This is one of the products that I got from my Etude House haul that my friend got for me from Taiwan, and since I started using it, my skin has never been the same.
Now, what's so interesting about this product is that it consists of a two layer product of gels, which are hyaluronic acid and collagen cream. When applied the product replenishes thirsty skin with its Baobab Water (Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract), which has excellent moisturising capabilities. Apart from the baobab fruit extract, it also contains 696.5mg collagen. I would have expected a little bit more collagen though, as they have already named their product Collagen Moistfull. But still, it's higher than industry standards of about 500mg collagen in any product
As you can see in the ingredient list, there are no parabens and phtalates :)
If you look closely, the product inside is arranged in a spiral so that when you pump out the product, both of the gel layers come out in an even layer. The arrangement of the product is more or less like the Sephora CC Cream that I wrote about previously, but of course in a more sophisticated way. I loved that the product comes in a vacuum pump, because then you can ensure that you get every single drop of product as opposed to a normal pump bottle where you might not be able to get to the very last drop of product.
The entire bottle is plastic (even the pump), so you don't have to worry if you accidentally drop it (touch wood) :p It is not a screwcap bottle, so you just have to pop the cover when you want to use it.
This is how the product looks like on my hand (one pump), as you can see, the two gel layers are quite visible, one being translucent while the other one has a whitish hue. I would say the translucent layer is the hyaluronic acid, and the collagen layer is the whitish one (though I might be wrong).
When you warm the product and apply it on your face, the texture of the water filler is very watery (true to its name), and absorbs very easily. After just a while of applying it on my skin, I can feel that all the moisture has been absorbed, and it doesn't leave any sticky residue! The baobab water retains moisture for hours, taking care of the skin and not drying it out.
Don't be fooled by the little amount. One pump is enough for your entire face and neck :)
Thanks to the super awesome shopkeepers in Taiwan, I got this Collagen Moistfull travel set as a complimentary set to my Water Filler. So every night, before I apply all these, I would apply the water filler first, before using the essence and cream.
I've been using it for a few weeks, and I must say, my skin feels very moisturised, and not as dry as it used to be. The product works, and I am glad I decided to get it. It is able to deliver moisture deep inside my skin, and my skin feels more revitalised and moisturised.
Verdict: 7.5/10
Repurchase: Yes
Pros
- Delivers its promise of retaining moisture in my skin
- Absorbs into skin very easily
- Water based so definitely doesn't clog pores
- No sticky residue after application
- Comes in a plastic bottle, so it's break-proof
Cons
- Might be too expensive for some people
The Collagen Moistfull Water Filler is available at all Etude House outlets for a price of RM119.90 for a 50ml bottle. One bottle can last you a long way, most probably about three to four months, so it's a pretty sound investment. :)
So, would you get a Water Filler for yourself? let me know in the comments section below! :)
Til the next time, stay beautiful!
