Systema Toothbrush Bloggers' Day Out

Holla ladies!

Question. If you were stranded on an island and you can only choose between a toothbrush, toothpaste, or mouthwash, which one would you choose? If you choose either the toothpaste or mouthwash, what are you gonna do when it runs out? To maintain good oral hygiene, you definitely need a toothbrush. How else are you gonna get rid of those little pieces of meat and spinach that gets stuck in between your teeth?

Did you know, that in the olden days, Mesopotamians use tooth sticks such as porcupine quills, bird feathers, and wooden thorns to clean their teeth? The Japanese used bone and horsehair to pick the meat out, and the ancient Romans even employed special slaves to help them clean their teeth!

It all sounds quite gross, and thankfully, in the modern days, the toothbrush has already been invented to spare us the hassle and difficulty in cleaning our teeth.

Today, thanks to Systema, we were treated to a  bloggers day out where we were given a crash course on the importance finding a toothbrush that will clean your teeth the best :)

But first, we were treated to a lovely brunch :D

Don't these look delicious???? :D

But I only took tea cos I had a pretty big breakfast of Laksa with my sisters before the event. See that little doll near my teacup? it's a pencil holder!! Super cute lor...had to take a picture with it :p

Photobombed Daniel's insta pic :p but I really think it's cute..hehehe...Even the hairstyle is almost the same >.< #megusta

That's right, teeth are not only good for eating. You need them to feel comfortable talking to other people, to smile, and also to connect to people :) Teeth are a very important part of a person's life, so you have to take really good care of them!

We were given the opportunity to try out two different toothbrushes, to compare how it feels, and which toothbrush will give us a better clean. It reminds me of primary school once more, where we squat down by the side of the longkang and the school dentist will teach us how to brush our teeth the right way.

Ta daa!! The pack of two toothbrushes that we were supposed to try out and compare

There were two toothbrushes given to us, this was the curvy toothbrush that we were asked to try first. Looking at it, it looks like a pretty standard looking toothbrush, with the zig zag bristles and shock 'absorber'. It looks pretty futuristic doesn't it? But when I brushed with it, the head of the toothbrush was too big for my mouth, making it very uncomfortable to brush. I would say the only good thing about this toothbrush was the tapered ends facing outwards, which makes it easier to clean the back of the mouth. But that's pretty much it. I could still feel some food stuck between my teeth :(

We then tried the other toothbrush, the slim one (sorry no pics, too excited to try it until forgot to take picture), and this one felt like a better fit in my mouth, and I could feel the softness of the bristles, and the bristles going between my teeth. After brushing it, my teeth actually felt cleaner, effectively removing little bits of food that was still stuck in my mouth.

After our brushing experience, Ms. Goh Cheng Looi, Senior Brand Manager of Systema, explained to us the importance of having a good toothbrush to clean your teeth.

For a better clean, the bristles have to be 0.02mm so that it can easily slide between your teeth, and remove the food so that it doesn't cause plaque build up and further hurt your teeth. These bristles cannot be too thin, else they will not be able to fit in between your teeth and doesn't effectively remove the little food bits. The bristles also have to be soft and gentle on your gums so that it doesn't bleed

At Systema, their toothbrush bristles are 0.02mm in size, and fits easily between  teeth, effectively removing all traces of food. It has been proven that Systema toothbrushes leave teeth 9x cleaner than other toothbrushes that are out there in the market.

Systema range of toothbrushes

All in all, it was a really enlightening experience for me, as I learnt that the best size for a bristle is actually 0.02mm, and not more or less than that. You an be sure that from now on, I would be searching for toothbrushes with that exact same bristle size. No more, no less. Heck, I will just buy Systema toothbrushes, since they work so well for me :D

Systema is actually sponsoring a Facebook page to giveaway free toothbrushes to fans :D It's called Keep Smiling MY, and you can head over to it here *click* Head on over there to give them some love, and try your hand at the facebook app to score yourselves some tree toothbrushes! *click*
