Wonderbox February 2013 Edition

I'm sure many of you have seen and/ or heard about the Beauty Boxes phenomena :p I for one, have seen too many :p so I decided to try out for myself, if I would be pleasantly surprised :p

So out of the many choices available out there, I finally made my decision and went with Wonderbox :) *yay* Mostly because I've been monitoring the products that they give out for the previous boxes, and I really liked them :p so I took the plunge, and got it. For me it was pretty affordable, at only RM39.90 :p not too expensive, and not too cheap either, so that you know the products that you get will be of some quality.

So I wasn't home when this arrived :p le bb even took a pic of it for me to squeal at silently at the office :p

The other boxes I saw on their fb page had red ribbons, and mine was a pink one :) looking good :) the box itself is matte, with spot uv on the fans, which was quite nice to the touch :)

 So what products are in this month's edition? we have products from Murad, Clinelle, H2O+ , and Jacqueline Burchell

Left: H2O+ Marine Toner (RM99/ 200ml). This product is 30ml

Right: H2O+ Oasis Dual Action Exfoliating Cleanser (RM99/120ml). This product is 30ml

The Toner is a revitalising, alcohol free toner that sweeps away impurities while improving moisture absorption. With Allantoin, Provitamin B and Hydrating Marine Blend.

the cleanser deeply cleanse and revitalise skin with this gently refining, oil-free formula. Made with natural fruit enzymes, jojoba beads, and moisturising marine botanicals.

I've tried the cleanser, and I was a little disappointed. The beads were not as many as I would have liked. When I squeezed a little on my hands, I could feel about only a few beads in there. :/

Left: Murad VITALIC T-Zone Pore Refining Gel (RM228/ 50ml). This product is 3.7ml

Right:  Murad Energizing Pomegranate Moisturiser (RM180/ 50ml). This product is 30ml

The pore refining gel clears pores while balancing oily and dry zones, and visibly reduces pore size for a flawless complexion.

The Moisturiser is a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser that infuses into the skin with hydration and protects against UVA/ UVB rays.

I was quite excited to get the pore refining gel, as I was on the lookout for good products out there for my large pores. I found that the Shisheido one was quite good, but was hesitant to purchase it cos it would definitely cost ALOT cos of the brand. So when I got this in the box, I was quite happy, and after doing some research on it online, I realised that alot of people recommend this product. Apparently one bottle can last a super long time, so let's see how long this 3.7ml lasts. So, I will try it out, and blog about after a month :) Let's see how it goes.

Jacqueline Burchell Nail Lacquer SGD9 (RM22/ 5ml). This is the full product

This Nail Lacquer has over 250 colours to choose from, and will bring out the colour in your life. Certified to be free of toluene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl Phthalate.

Initially, I wasn't very happy with the colour cos it seems like a dull grey colour. The colour I got was Galactic Nuclei (which sounded a little goth and futuristic to me). But when I tried it on to test, I liked the colour it became :p It wasn't too goth or dark that I couldn't use to the office (I work a professional job, so I can't use super bright or noticeable colours), and it dries pretty quickly. The colour you see on my nail is after two layers of application. Just nice :)

Perhaps the only downside of this nail lacquer is that it chips pretty easily. This is just my second day using it, and already some of it has chipped away :( Maybe that's their gimmick to get you to buy more :/

Clinelle Moisture Booster (RM72.90/ 20ml). This is the full product.

Provide your skin with excellent recovery properties and to maintain your skin hydration at an optimal level. This oil-free hydrating fluid helps promote instant moisture penetration to serve immediate soothing to skin while simultaneously reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

I have only ever used one clinelle product before and that was the blemish gel (which didn't work wonders for me), but I don't mind trying this out as I have just finished my moisturiser, so let's see if this is a good product :)

If you calculate everything out to the ml and RM right (cos I'm just particular that way), this month's box is worth RM259.40 in total :p VALUE!!!!!

All in all, I was pretty happy with the products given. I guess my only grouse with it is that I think they should include more different brands of stuff, not two products of the same brand, and make up as well, cos in this box, there was more skincare products than make up (can nail polish be considered make up? lol I don't think so).

So I think there should be a good mix of make up and skincare (But then again, sometimes these stuff depends on your affiliated brands, sometimes you can't get a good mix, it might all be just make up stuff, or all skincare products, so I understand that it's pretty hard)

So, down to the nitty gritty, will I repurchase this? Definitely :) I might even sign up for the quarterly programme :D
